Children's Ark Wedding
Every year in the Mother's Day out program at our church, the oldest preschool class gets to participate in a pretend wedding as a part of their study on Families. I have heard about this many times, but have never had reason yet to attend. This year Griffin's class were the guests at the wedding (they are the class right below the wedding party). He was so excited because he got to wear his new tie. They had also been learning about families and when he told me about the wedding, he said "The wedding is pretend, but the cake and punch are real!" And that was the highlight for him and his friends. The parents of both classes were invited to attend and it was a really fin event to witness. Roger, our minister, performed the "ceremony" and he did such a wonderful job of talking with the kids and explaining what they were doing and what marriage is really all about. It is nice to know that the values we hold to are being imparted to our children in school, as well as in the home.
