Tucker's first Foods

These are pictures of our first attempt to give Tucker rice cereal- it was several weeks ago and not much has changed. Tucker will sit and not fuss, but hardly opens his mouth or seems interested in anything we give him. We have tried rice cereal and oatmeal, bananas, and peaches. We keep trying and he keeps humoring us, but not much is getting in. No worries though...we know he'll get it when he is ready. In the meantime, we get cute pictures

Tucker, 5 months

Tucker, you are getting so big. The time goes by so fast that I am already a week behind in writing this post. So much has changed in a month. You are rolling over...all over. You can roll both ways and often find yourself in precarious situations now because of it. You LOVE to talk...and scream. You yell out when you are happy, frustrated, and just plain mad. You like to hear your voice. It is no wonder in this family- you must yell to be heard sometimes. You are finally sleeping better at night. No, I did not say sleeping ALL night, but much improved from a few weeks ago. I can't complain much because you go down for naps and bed so easily and you take such nice, long naps. You love your brother, although he sometimes gets in your face a little more than you like. Kate Cherry let you borrow her exerciser and you love to stand up in it. While you love exploring new objects, grabbing at anything within sight and putting it straight to your mouth, you tend to get frustrated when it doesn't fit just like you like it. We started giving you some cereal, but you don't really care for that yet. Hopefully that will change over the next few months. You show us your love all the time with your 2-fisted grabbing at our face and your big, open mouth "kisses". Tucker, we love you and can't wait for what is in store over the next month.

Summertime

It is officially here...well not officially but it might as well be in Austin! With summer comes swimming and we may not have the nicest or biggest pool on the block (especially since both our neighbors have pools) but I think we have a pretty nice set-up. One $20 Wal-Mart pool and a tarp and our deck has become a summer hang-out...at least for those under 3. Griffin loves his easy access to water and I love that I can watch him from our window in the living room. We should get a lot of use out of this pool this summer.

Guitar Hero

Our friends Christian and Katherine and Paul and Katie came over this past weekend for some smoked brisket and guitar hero. We all stuffed ourselves and had a blast playing terribly- well I will only speak for myself. Griffin even got into the action, as you can see. Katherine was great to play with him and he took full advantage- dragging her everywhere with him. It was a nice evening.
