Track season

Wow- what a season! I knew we had the talent to have another successful season, but with smaller numbers, a late start due to the success of our basketball team, and losing some key seniors from last year, we knew we had an uphill road. But These ladies never waivered from their goals of winning our district and improving upon our 3rd place finish in state last year. They worked hard with the time they had and dedicated themselves to being successful, both on and off the track. Although we faced adversity in many forms throughout the season, these young ladies used that to make them better and bring them closer. We ended the season as district champs for the 2nd year in a row and finished 2nd in the state meet, our highest finish ever in state as a track program. We broke an amazing 7 school records, placed in all 10 of the events we were in at the state meet, and had our first relay ever to win a state championship. These ladies compete all season against bigger schools with better facilities and more coaches and they never let that deter them or use it as a crutch. Their will to win and compete at their highest level is outstanding and even more impressive is the way they achieve all of this with grace, sportsmanship, team unity, and the heart of Christ. I am so very proud of each of them.
