Kite Festival
This is one of our favorite "Austin" things to do. Every year they have a kite festival the first Sunday in March and fill up Zilker Park with kites, food, games for the kids, etc... This was our 3rd time to go and it was in a little different location which was not as open and a lot more dirt than grass (as you can see from the pictures). The wind was not very high, so it was hard for us (and others) to get our kites flying high, but it was still a fun event and the weather was great. Griffin loved just playing in the dirt- I don't think even would have noticed the kites at all if we had not been constantly pointing to them. I am sure we will continue to make this an annual event.

We've always wanted to go and seem to forget about it every year. Glad you had fun!
Looks fun - I didn't know they did that. We'll have to remember for next year.
Wish we could have gone. It looks like you guys had a blast. I'm not sure how I feel about the new location though. Looks a bit dusty. Do you know why they switched it?
I guess we just have to say, "Maybe next year" one more time. :)
